Jonathan’s Landing Foundation uses social enterprise as a core part of our model, not as a side initiative. Social enterprises allow us to build sustainable systems that support adults with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other neurodiversities to live and work with purpose. By integrating business, workforce innovation, and mission, we can offset costs, expand access, and deliver higher-quality services over the long term. This approach strengthens outcomes for individuals, families, and partners alike.
Traditional nonprofit models rely heavily on fundraising to cover ongoing costs. While philanthropy remains essential, it is not enough on its own to sustain housing, workforce pathways, and long-term support at scale.
Social enterprises allow us to:
Social enterprises sit at the intersection of our two core pillars: Live and Work
When Live and Work support sustainable business models, connection and community follow naturally. This model allows us to serve individuals with different support needs while creating pathways that adapt as adults grow.
Techtonic is Jonathan’s Landing Foundation’s flagship social enterprise. It delivers enterprise-grade technology services—including device repair and reverse logistics—while employing neurodiverse adults in skilled technical roles. Techtonic operates as both a business engine and a workforce engine. Through Techtonic, individuals progress from hands-on training in the Workforce Innovation Center to industry-recognized credentials and paid employment with clear paths for advancement. Techtonic is more than repair. It creates careers that grow—aligned with the strengths of neurodiverse talent and the real labor needs of the technology sector.
The Workforce Innovation Center is where individuals learn and build skills. Our social enterprises are where those skills are put to work. Training in the Workforce Innovation Center prepares participants for real roles, and social enterprises like Techtonic provide fully operational, training environments where learning continues on the job. These are not simulations. Our social enterprises operate in real markets, meet real customer demand, and generate real revenue—creating authentic work environments that serve as training grounds, employment pathways, and engines for long-term impact.
Jonathan’s Landing Foundation is building a growing family of mission-driven social enterprises—each designed to create meaningful work, expand inclusive career pathways, and strengthen long-term impact.
As new enterprises are developed in response to real labor needs, the Workforce Innovation Center provides the training, credentials, and career pathways that prepare individuals to succeed within them.
As we scale, we will continue to add enterprises that meet workforce demand and open new doors to employment. Our next venture in Culinary Sciences is slated to launch in 2026, expanding inclusive career opportunities into food service, hospitality, and community-facing industries.
Whether you are a business partner, donor, employer, or advocate, social enterprise offers a powerful way to create impact while building value.
