WESH 2 NEWS: CommUNITY Champion: Central Florida nonprofit expands career opportunities for people with special needs

WESH 2 News awarded Jonathan’s Landing Foundation’s founder, Jason Eichenholz, as Community Champion for his inspiring work with Jonathan’s Landing and its first social enterprise, Techtonic. The feature, covered by WESH reporter Sanika Dange, highlights Techtonic’s “Live, Work, and Play” initiative, which expands career opportunities for neurodiverse adults. Born from Jason’s desire to empower his son, Jonathan, to fix his own iPad, Techtonic—through a partnership with CTIA—has adapted the national WISE curriculum into a specialized curriculum that meets the need of neurodiverse learners. Backed by a million-dollar state appropriation from the Florida Department of Vocational Rehab, this innovative program is building sustainable career pathways in IT repair, forging a new model for sustainable employment and independence for adults with autism and IDD.
