What Sets Us Apart
Our Curriculum was designed with neurodiverse learners at top of mind
Universal Learning Curriculum
We’ve partnered with CTIA to develop a Universal Learning Curriculum that aligns with the requirements of the WISE Certification. This approach ensures that every learner—regardless of their background or learning style—has access to high-quality, inclusive training.
Mircocredentials
In an industry first, we’ve introduced microcredentials, bite-sized certifications focusing on specific device repair skills. This modular approach allows students to master one skill at a time, building confidence and expertise along the way.

What is a WISE Certification
A WISE Certification (Wireless Industry Service Excellence) is an industry-recognized credential that certifies individuals in cellphone and electronic device repair. Developed by CTIA, the WISE Certification ensures that technicians meet high standards of technical proficiency, safety, and customer service in the repair industry.
This certification is widely accepted across the tech repair sector, helping individuals secure jobs in mobile device repair, IT asset management, and electronics servicing. By earning a WISE Certification, technicians demonstrate their expertise and credibility, making them more competitive in a growing industry.
Key Areas Covered in a WISE Certification
- Technical Skills – Expertise in diagnosing and repairing devices, including advanced techniques like micro-soldering.
- Quality Assurance – Adherence to standardized repair processes and use of high-quality parts.
- Customer Service – Transparent communication, pricing, and warranties.
- Sustainability – E-waste recycling and eco-friendly repair practices.
- Safety Compliance – Safe handling of devices and regulatory adherence.
- Data Security – Protecting customer data during repairs.
- Certification Standards – Testing and validating technician skills.
- Business Operations – Efficient workflows and organized repair facilities.

SkillCircuits
Your First Step into the Workforce Academy
Before enrolling in the Academy, individuals attend a SkillCircuit—a 2.5-hour, hands-on demonstrations covering the basics of device repair, from diagnosing common issues to disassembling and reassembling equipment. SkillCircuits help participants gauge their interest and abilities in tech repair, and also provide the first opportunity to earn an Introductory Micro-Credential, setting them on the path to full certification. We bring SkillCircuits directly to schools and organizations through partnerships, and host monthly events for those not currently enrolled in a partner program.
5,000 Career Pathways
Through the Techtonic Workforce Academy, and social enterprises, Jonathan’s Landing Foundation aims to create 5,000 career pathways for neurodiverse adults.

Learning Pathways
Every individual’s goals are different. Some may want to pursue the full WISE Certification, while others prefer to focus on select competencies through microcredentials. Students can choose which skills they want to master, the number of microcredentials they earn, and the pace at which they learn. This flexibility ensures that learners can still pursue a meaningful career in tech repair without necessarily completing the full certification.

Real World Experience
While we don’t directly place graduates into jobs, we do create career pathways by providing industry-relevant training. Students who join the Workforce Academy can gain training hours and real-world experience through apprenticeships at Jonathan’s Landing Foundation’s social enterprise, Techtonic, where they apply their newly acquired skills in a practical setting.

Community Engagement
For those who want to share their expertise and mentor others in the community, our Train-the-Trainer program offers the chance to become future SkillCircuit facilitators or Academy instructors. This leadership role further expands your skill set and increases your value in the tech field.

Preparing You for a Career in Tech
Our ultimate goal is to ensure you have the necessary skills and confidence to find sustainable employment in the tech industry—whether through entry-level positions, freelance opportunities, or further career advancement. We’re here to support your journey and help you thrive in a rapidly growing field.
